About Etty

Hello, I’m Etty (and that’s my cat Stevie).

I’m a professional trumpet player and music administrator living in beautiful Woodbridge, Suffolk. Drawing and painting have always been passions of mine and in a strange way the events of 2020 gave me the opportunity to turn my passion into real products that I hope people will enjoy as much as I’ve enjoyed creating them. When we moved out of London we had a stack of unframed art from various travels/holidays, so I started learning how to frame them myself to fill our empty walls. I’m still developing my skills but thoroughly enjoying the framing process - so if you have a forgotten stack of prints you want framed, let me know!

The plants and birds I painted for my Winter card designs were chosen because they are less well known than the usual winter/Christmas suspects of robins, holly, mistletoe and poinsettias (which I love as well!), and I hope to bring these alternatives to more people’s attention - especially the birds as both are on conservation concern lists in the UK. The Lapwing bird in my Spring cards collection is also on the Red List for conservation but is a frequent sight along the river Deben in Woodbridge and a personal favourite of mine.
